Rio Grand Valley Quilt Show

The 2011 Quilt Show will be Friday 18 and Saturday 19 of February, 9 am to 5 pm. There will be vendors plus a show case of some of our talented quilters in the Valley. Plus there will be a wonderful array of demos going on throughout the days. Other areas of interest: Secondhand Rose, Country Boutique, Miniatures Auction, Door Prizes, Quilts for Sale Booth, Scissors Sharpening and lots of other treats.

Please note there is a location change for 2011 and the show will be held at the new McAllen Convention Center, 700 Convention Blvd.

We will have a booth at the Show and we hope you'll stop by and see us!

New Store Hours

At the top of the home page we have our contact information and hours of operation. We have new hours and a new day. The store is now open Monday thru Friday 9:30 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 9:30 am to 3 pm.

Reminder: there is a map at the bottom of the home page and you are able to get directions by entering your starting point. We are happy to give directions over the phone as the store is a little hard to find as there isn't a sign by the road.

Look for us behind the Bargain Bazaar on 23rd St. in McAllen.

Store Pictures

Hi all,

These are a few pictures taken today (Tuesday, Februrary 3). The top left picture is of some of the new fabric the store received in the last few weeks.

We are still doing longarm quilting at the store using the HQ Sixteen. Ruth and another lady have started doing the quilting for customer quilts. So if you have tops waiting to be done, come in and talk to us.

We'd like to showcase your quilts at the store so let us know if we can take pictures for the store's electronic picture frame and our web site.

If you have been thinking of getting a longarm machine come talk to Ruth about purchasing this wonderful and easy to use HQ Sixteen Handiquilter.

We have a calender up at the store with classes that Ruth is teaching during the days. She has Stack and Whack, Turning Twenty and Trip Around the World. If one isn't scheduled on a day you'd like, please talk to her about scheduling another time and day.

Classes are $40 for the day, starting about 10:15 am or 10:30 am.
